Cardiac PET is widely recognized as one of the most accurate noninvasive tests for evaluating suspected or known coronary artery disease. A recent position statement from the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (ASNC) further reinforces the important role of Cardiac PET in modern cardiovascular care.
ASNC recommends PET myocardial perfusion imaging (PET MPI), when available, as the preferred modality for patients who meet appropriate imaging criteria. The recommendation highlights PET MPI's diagnostic accuracy, risk-stratification capabilities and unique quantitative measurements.
This recognition represents another important step in advancing awareness of Cardiac PET and supporting access to high-quality diagnostic imaging for patients and healthcare providers.
